More about "The Roost"
Click here for rules and regulations.

Lake Dancy is located in the middle of a 6500 acre game preserve.
Several yerars ago a decision was made to build a small impoundment for bassfishing. Years of experience in building lakes and ponds has resulted in a phenomal fishery, that is a delight to fish.

When people talk about hunting in Alabama, especially trophy deer and turkey, the subject of the Black Belt always takes the forefront of the conversation. This lush, fertile land is renowned for growing trophy whitetail and plentiful turkey.
Our first class facility located in Pickens County, just outside of Aliceville, has proven to be one of the premier hunting lodges in the South.
We have worked to establish over 6,500 acres of prime whitetail habitat. What this means, is that you can enjoy a successful hunt with knowledgeable guides in surroundings designed for a great outdoor experience.

The Roost provides quality Deer, Turkey, and Quail hunts. Because The Roost is located on the Alabama/Mississippi border, we hunt in both states.
The Roost is farmland and we farm for big deer. Our hunters hunt over row crops of soybean, corn and during the winter, wheat fields and CRP. This is, "Hedgerow Country", where a hunter can see for hundreds of yards, what the French would call, Bocage, much like Normandy or Nebraska. Our deer generally bed in CRP and heavily timbered creek bottoms and hedgerows.
During the antler-growing season, our bucks are feeding on high protein vegetation like soybean, clover, honeysuckle and other plants rich in nutrients. During the winter there is plenty of spilled corn and soybean leftover from the harvest as well as natural browse.
Archery season begins October 1st. Gun season runs from the Saturday before Thanksgiving through January 31st.
